Before melting down mid-game on X over the state of the Dallas Cowboys, former Undisputed host Skip Bayless took to the social-media site to blitz new-to-the-booth Tom Brady with a broadside of his broadcasting chops.
Bayless, who had an eight-year run with Undisputed on Fox Sports, even went as far as roasting the seven-time Super Bowl champ with a new disparaging nickname as Brady offered his analysis of the San Francisco 49ers-Arizona Cardinals game broadcast by Bayless’s former employer.

“I’ve been listening to 49ers-Cardinals commentary by Capt. Obvious … who just talks and talks more and more obvious,” Bayless said in a post on X.
Brady is in the first year of a 10-year, $375-million contract with Fox Sports, serving as an analyst alongside play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt as the company’s top NFL broadcast crew.
But things haven’t gone smoothly for the future Pro Football Hall of Famer, who was left hanging by fellow analyst Mike Pereira in an awkward exchange during his first game in the booth.

Brady has improved of late, but early watchers were quick to slam his debut performance with one social-media user calling the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback “atrocious” as a broadcaster.
“Tom Brady needs to be hella interesting to listen to, because his speaking voice isn’t super pleasant to listen to and so far, he is not,” another anonymous commenter said, via the Daily Mail.
The basis for Bayless’s criticism of Brady seems to echo that comment, which he laid out in mid-September.

‘OH MY GOD’: Brady reaches breaking point during Cowboys broadcast
“I listened to Tom Brady for a whole game today, then Tony Romo for a whole game,” Bayless wrote on X during the Week 2 slate of NFL games with Brady calling the Dallas Cowboys-New Orleans Saints game and Romo, a former Cowboys quarterback, calling the Kansas City Chiefs-Cincinnati Bengals tilt on rival CBS.
“Romo gives you far more X&O insight and enlightenment. Some ex-QBs can see it and say it. Some can’t. Maybe Brady played more with indescribable feel and instinct. But … he’s just a booth rookie.”
Don’t expect the critiques to stop, either, as Bayless continues to be in between jobs after leaving Undisputed over the summer with rumours suggesting he may be launching a new show with rapper Lil’ Wayne.
As for Brady, he has yet to clap back at the new nickname but that could always change in a flash. Just ask Baker Mayfield.
