Ontario movie star Ryan Gosling gave a legendary performance at the 96th Academy Awards last night as he belted out his Oscar-nominated track “I’m Just Ken” from the blockbuster movie, Barbie. Performing alongside Gosling were several Kens from the movie, including Toronto actor Simu Liu.
Gosling was bedazzled in a pink sparkly suit, matching gloves, and sunglasses as he performed amidst giggles from his Barbie co-star Margot Robbie, director Greta Gerwig, and others.

On stage, he crooned his ballad alongside other actors including Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, and Liu while Slash, lead guitarist from the legendary rock band Guns ‘n’ Roses, played an electrifying solo as part of the performance.
Gosling also went into the crowd and had his co-stars including Robbie as well as Best Actress winner Emma Stone singing along. His performance was so pitch-perfect it even had some demanding a Ken spin-off movie of hs own.
There seriously better be a Barbie Sequel called #ImJustKen at this point.

Despite the roar of applause and rave reviews across social media, perhaps the song was a self-fulfilling prophecy. “I’m Just Ken” came in second spot, losing to another fan-favourite Barbie track. Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie movie took home the prize for Best Original Song.
